Privacy

What we store

• .Your account: email address and sign-in method (email and password, or Google). Guests have an anonymous account with no email.
• .What you write: conversations, Untangle answers and maps, journal pages, Seven days pages, steps and what came up when you did them, and the notes Shinn writes about your progress.
• .Today's reading: the short piece and the quote shown on Home each day, kept so they do not change during the day.
• .Settings and plan: which plan you are on and, when billing is on, the Stripe customer reference. Never card numbers.
• .Events: the name of an action and when it happened, for example "message sent" or "step done". Events never contain what you wrote. This is how we see whether Shinn is useful.
• .Error reports: technical details when something breaks (which page, which error). Not what you wrote.

Where it goes

• .The database is hosted on Lovable Cloud, which runs on Supabase.
• .Your words are sent to Anthropic's API to generate each reply. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models.
• .Today's reading is generated from a theme, not from your words. None of what you wrote is sent for it.
• .If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address and name. We store the email.
• .When billing is on, payments run through Stripe. Stripe holds your card details. We never see the number.
• .Our hosting provider records page views: page, country, device type and where the visit came from. No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics scripts.

What is never done

• .Your words are never used to train a model, by us or by anyone we work with.
• .We never sell or share your content.
• .No one on our side reads your conversations to build a profile of you. Aggregate counts only.

The care card

When the safety check triggers, Shinn shows numbers for the country you are in. The country comes from the country code your connection carries or from your device's time zone, at that moment. It is not stored and we do not look up your IP address through any third-party service.

Things we remove before saving

Card numbers, Emirates ID and other national ID numbers, IBANs, passwords and API keys are removed from what you write before it is saved, on your device and again on our server. This is a safety net, not a promise, so please still do not paste them.

Guests

A guest session is an anonymous account. It and everything in it is deleted 30 days after it was created unless you bring it into an account. You can also leave it at any time from the menu.

Deleting

Any single item can be deleted from where it appears. From Settings you can delete your whole account, which removes every conversation, map, page, step, note and event at once. There is no undo.

Ask for a copy of your data, a correction or a deletion at hello@shinnai.app. We answer from that address.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
